Looking For A Low Memory DAW Solution

help if you can need a DAW that you can mixdown easily and doesn't have huge audio folders

I used to mess with cakewalk an it was perfect got protools but an hour of audio is easily 2-3gigs

I can't keep up

An hour of audio? Are you recording live events or what? An hour's worth of data in wav format is going to be a huge file in any program.. it's not the DAW that determines the file size.. it's the file format you choose to save the audio.. wav is a non compressed file format for audio as I'm sure you know.. if you're just running out of space then back up each wav file on a dvd disc and then delete the original off of your hard drive.. other than that, filesize should be the same more or less in any DAW.. try a different wav format.. not sure what you would have been using in cakewalk that gave you smaller filesize..
