i think obama is definitely employing law 32, but not in the way the alchemist merchant il bragadino did. Obama's mantra is CHANGE! He's playing that up, which is a good thing, and its definitely working. Obama has become the antithesis to the 8 disasterous years of bush. He's young and anti war, thats refreshing to a lot of people. People ultimately integrate supercialities into their decision making. That is the primary reason, i still believe, why Bob Dole lost in 2006, is that he came off like a stale politician of the past, and Clinton still had a bit of his youthful charms. Next to Dole, Clinton looked like a kid fresh out of college.

Women cry when Obama publicly speaks. If thats not playing to people's fantasies i don't know what is.
People have iraq war fatigue, and here comes someone who straight up says no war. Nothing helps out a nation in despair more than a person that is a breath of fresh air and full of new ideas. In that respect, Obama is il Bragadino.

well robert greene's main point is that to be powerful you should never retract your fangs, you have to do whatever it takes to get into power, but at the same time that doesn't really mean you cannot sacrifice your benevolence once you reach that kind of power. i mean you can interpret to book on how to be a completely amoral and evil person, but its only instructions on how to strategically climb the ladder of power. yes you have to have dirty hands and tricks up your sleeves, but that doesn't mean you're a wholly evil person either. obama is not pure 100% either, i don't believe it for a second. he has some benevolent goals and i believe he's a genuine person, but i dont think he got this far without having to get his hands at least a little dirty.

democrats regularly get labled pussies though, and they're afraid to unsheathe their claws. ironically, when hillary shows that she's not someone to be fucked with, she gets called a ruthless and vicious politician. so whats it gonna be? you want someone who will put up a fight, or do you want someone who will go away when threatened? obama is great but i hope he puts up a fight when necessary.

obama is the least tainted person by far though, don't get me wrong.
