Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4 Fix for Windows 7

If you use Windows 7 32 bit.. and you use Pro Tools m-powered.. you've probably gotten the 0xc0000005 error. It's the same error people used to get also when you would have Internet Explorer 8 on a previous version of windows.. you used to be able to fix that by uninstalling ie8. You can't uninstall IE8 on windows 7, and disabling it (through the add/remove windows components) doesn't count.

someone put out a fix as a .reg file that works. I've went through the .reg file and found a lot of spyware URL's, so I cleaned it up a bit, and if you need the fix, I've reposted the clean verison on my website blog:

I've had 7 on my laptop, and it pissed me off that the ONLY thing i couldn't get working on it was PT. I left XP on my studio comp just in case. Now that I got it working, I upgraded my studio comp to 7, and things are pretty rosy.

As some would expect, the fix didn't come from digi, and somebody outside just made the registry edit. Someone I guess tried to mess it up by mixing in some bad shit, but I cleaned it up as much as I could.

7.4 is a good version. With 8.0, I think you actually need a physical usb interlok drive as of right now. You cant run 7.4 on windows 7 without this. Ill give this another up

thanks for the ups people.. it was pissing me off for so long that I couldn't run pt on windows 7.. it was flawless except for that.. finally got it good and i'm completely happy with 7 now.

now if samsung would create a mobile studio driver for win7, id be able to stop dual booting. For the life of me I cant get my phone to connect to 7, only vista.
