is it worth this continous search for reason? I just downloaded fl 7 but I'm trying to find reason or as many programs I can transfer to my boys computer. he lives well north of detroit and has no internet access at all so I'm gettin whatever I can before I head up there.

he's got the roland phantom and we got my turntables

any pieces of equipment preferably cheap or programs I should look for? should I be lookin for drum kits to add to FL or somthin? Or maybe other keyboard sounds such as the triton or motif

I hear a lot if you havn't fucked with FL and are new to it dont bother with reason just lookin for some more opinions on that.

Cire I know you do the shit as just a hobby and your shit sounds pretty nice, we are just lookin to fuck around so your advice is appreciated.

ummm... i use FLP 8, not sure what the differences between 7 and 8 are but im sure all the shit i use in 8 are in 7...

If you dont have a Midi controller, Cop some USB MIDI Cables...connects your MIDI keyboard via USB...In FLP i love fucking with Sytrus, theres a few other sound Modules on their..This might not be the best example, but i made this in sytrus just fucking around..

and yeah, Definitely some Drum Sounds, and some EQ plug ins (Waves, Etc etc), Reason is sick as shit, But you need some patience to learn it, I dont have any patience, so I quit fucking with it after a few hours.

but check out cubase or acid pro.

U cant use other vsts on reason.. just there sounds only...

u cant use a 3rd party vst.. atleast thats how it was

I use Acid Pro.

It's amazing. Easy To learn. And u dont just have to use "Acid-loops"

u can import vsts... like battery 3 (drum program)

or this shit called Guru... (drum program) for programming drums...

U can record vocals.. make videos.. I use it as a main sequencer....

U can zoom in and edit shit with ease....

Hypno thanks a lot for that input, I actually downloaded Acid Pro 7 last night, so I have that and FL7, Ima go hunt for some sounds, maybe by mid summer I can actually have a decent beat

don't know shit about sampling and chopping but I got so much vinyl I need to figure that shit out

get some vsts and drumkits and you should be good

reasons aight but its really limited in comparison to FL, and the GUI design sucks donkey dick so it'll take twice as long to do simple tasks as FL because of the horrible layout and theirs no vst support

acid is aight too but its strictly for sampling

I mean shit is gonna be mad boring , he lives in the fuckin woods, 36 mile road actually (I threw that in cuz everyone knows 8 mile is the border of detroit), only thing to do is ride go carts or fuck with music.

you can pass plenty of time with a fantom
