Expert Sound Designers / Reason Users....

So i was going through reason's sound library the other day and noticed alot of "Raw Synth Elements" for the NN19..

just simple saws and buzzes - "techno"

So i was wandering what exactly do you change on the NNX19/XT to make use of these ?? Or what effects do you put on em to make full use ?

ETC....

And "generally" what are some other tweaks and processes do you put on "any" sound to make it something new/different...

And what do you avoid to keep from ruining the quality of the sound.. ?

i use the screamer on the guitar shits sick. but yea you can add the screamer then go through the screamer effect patches and check out the different sounds it can come up with.

Google "subtractive synthesis" and you will get a wealth of info you can use to answer your questions. The nn19 and nnxt are basically subtractive synths without the raw oscillator waveforms. Instead, you can supply any wave you want, but all the other basic parameters are the same. So in a way, it is more flexible because you have more sound sources, but it is not as fat or rich sounding because you are using digital waveforms and not vco's.

with them raw synths on the nn19 shits good for LAYERING in combinator... and add a phaser or unision to them saw or pulse synths..

i guess combinator would suit me best in my venture.
