My NBA 2k5 on PS2 WONT LET ME PLAY THE CHAMPIONSHIP! Help Please

Ok so I did an association. Created a team, played the regular season, and now I've advanced to the NBA Finals. However, when I go to play it, it won't work. I hit play game, nothing happens. I go to Schedule and click on the game and nothing happens, at all. I've tried a lot of shit to figure this out.

Someone please help ... i feel like a dumbass

Instead of going onto the actual date, did you just click the Play Game thing that you see before you go to the calendar

That exact glitch happened to me.... I was 11 years deep in my franchise, got a new star player that i built up... Got to the championship series... Something happened and It wouldnt let the start button work from the schedule, so i couldnt go to "Play Game"... And it wouldnt work from the main menu... So i was stuck... I had to delete my save.

Its sad... But it blows it.
