My mother was on that same type of shit. My father half puerto rican/black. She always told me she figured I'd come out looking like him and shit with the skin color and good hair. I just came out with the good hair, my ass took up after her black ass. Then for my little sister her daddy is full Italian or some shit like that. So yeah she was on that same shit. Though that was back when she was young, still a teenager.

Technically their wishes for a "pretty baby" are natural. What defines beauty also defines good health in most cases. However many people are falling victim to the dehumanization of their race. It really just depends on the person. I do believe that is a pretty shitty reason to mate with someone, based on that alone. I'd be more concerned with intelligence and hereditary disease.
