I stand at my mothers grave.. inside i feel ashamed and blamed
'Cuz all i wanted was a goodbye kiss.. but i didnt even get a wave
Im so afraid.. my soul weeps as my eyes shed tears of distraught
We had some great times that i'll forever cherish inside my heart

*Reflects on Childhood*

We had a small house.. but we both remained stable and sturdy
Because as long as there was food on the table.. i had no worries
My mom worked very hard as she pulled two jobs supporting me
I loved Sundays.. cuz hearin her sing was a wonderful joy to see
I was always there for my mom.. through colds and runny noses
On Mothers Day.. i fed her food in bed and surprised her wit roses
Makin her happy was the key.. cuz i didnt like her angry at me
It wasnt fun runnin around the house.. and receiving spankings
But as i got older i began to love her more as i started maturin
She was there to teach me.. and i was always open for learnin

*Graduates from High School*

I wasnt the smartest person.. but my mom always thought i was
Because of her i strived in high school.. cuz of her endless love
I was given it throughout my entire life.. in times i needed it most
My mom kept building me up.. till i felt i was a brickwall of hope
And now i was sayin goodbye.. as i was off to attend a university
4 years of college without my mom.. is gonna feel like an eturnity
But i'll see her often on monthly visits.. phone calls and Christmas
I'll see her at rough times.. cuz whenever i need help she listens
But right now im ready to leave.. find my wife and start a family
Get my degree and form a firm establishment for my upbringing

*Good News.. Bad News*

Things are goin very well.. to tell the truth i like the way im livin
I have a wife and a good job.. and now my mom has two granchildren
But thats only the good news.. i havent got to the bad stuff yet
My mom had a severe heart attack.. and is approaching death
I drove to the hospital astounded.. very quickly i ran to her bed
I held my head and screamed.. to only find out my mom was dead
This cant be happening.. everything that was right became wrong
But atleast i kno my moms in a happy place.. where she belongs
I'll never forget who i am.. and who was the perfect mom for me
Even tho i couldnt say goodbye.. from heaven she still talks to me
