yeah vocab does help a lot but it's not everything.

I started to freestyle everyday and got somewhat decent. I do it a lot on yahoo so if you wanna practice with me, holla.

Here's a great tip i used to get my freestyling skills to where they are today.

Go out in the streets and the first person you see run up to them and hit them in the face. Then take what their first words they say are and use that to rhyme and start freestyling while running away from them. Go to the next nearest person and do the same. Don't get caught!

This also helps breath control since you will have to run like hell and also freestyle at the same time.

u should start off cypherin then pick up on ur shit and as for vocab u can learn it but whats tha point u wanna say shit that will have people laughin or like ooooooo....thats tha shit u should focus on have ur crowd goin wit u when u free and vocab u should say words tha people understand cuzz not everyone is smart

Having a large vocab in freestyling does not make people think you wrote it. When i spit somthing real hot with a lot of words not commonly used and people think i wrote it, thats a complament to me.

Get a dictonary and just flip to a page and the first word you see get it and rhyme every word you that it can rhyme with and go as long as you can. That way you are learning new words plus you are getting a better grasp of words you already know.

i cant freestyle for shit in my opinion...but ive learned like if u just look out ur room window and freestyle bout wat u see and just do this is different places it will help u to be able to think shit up right there and then.

vocab i find not alot of people are too bothered bout there vocab but it can help but in freestyles its better to come out with some good lines and havin peeps laughin or like oooooo ya know and every now n then i manage that

the main thing to do is practise practise practise

then it won't be a freestyle smart guy,if u free shit u don't have tyme to come wit a lot of big words u want tha shit to be flawless and tight as hell

Well smart guy, if you good at freestyling and have a decent vocab you wouldnt have to take time to think of bigger words than 3 letter words because it would just come to you. Having a large vocab makes your freestlyes and writtens much better, when you can rhyme big words and make sense expecially in a FS then it sounds much tighter than Not spot rot etc....

Practice. Burn a CD full of instrumentals and put that shit on, then just freestyle by yourself. Have yo homies come over and freestyle about them (their clothes, whatever), then freestyle about whatever. Just practice. As for battlin (MC battles), like I said, have yo homies come over, and try ta make em look bad by sayin shit. thats what I did anyways. Peace

Also try it with headphones on or doing somthing else. To me its much easier to flow when i im not 100% focused on rapping. If you think about it to much it wont work. Like I either yoyo or play a video game and flow, works for me.

always have a rhymin wods in ya head before you put out a line, and if you cant think of a rhymin word, change subject, also to help with your rhymin, stayin in school helps and i find readin shit liked books andshit on websites makes ya vocab bigger and will reflect in your rhymes, for instince u can tell which people are oldr and which people are younger on this site judging by their rhymes and use of words

just practice dawg...str8 up...if u have a hard time findin privacy n shit just go in ya moms truck/car...i did that evrytime i got bored...i only had 2 instrumentals(grindin &the watcher)and i wuld just go in ma moms truck...turn tha bass up and play it and spit to it...i did that fa a cuple months and now im decent...just practice dawg...

Yeah when your rhyming, if you come to a dead end or mess up just keep going. change the subject. Pretty soon that mistake or dead end will be forgotten and you will be back on track.

take your time...everyone learns at their own pace

have a good friend of your write twenty words down...any words...and free wit it

example:

dawgs
pistols
keyboard

make each word rhyme wit another word that YOU create before moving to tha next one...this helps to keep you on track by doing a couple things...1)helping your mind adjust to the quicker thinking aspect of free..2)expanding your vocabulary...3)giving you topics to spit about...4)helpin you wit ideas in certain battles

(if i free battle against a kid on tha street...i'm gonna diss from his shoes to his hair-do....feel me?)

trust me...this method has helped many many many peeps to jump on tha train fast...but remember...its at YOUR pace...dont rush it and get your head cloudy and then get frustrated...
