Yeah civics are slow, they have low torque, and are overpriced. They shouldn't be raced.

I disagree. the b16 is a powerful engine, and if you swap it, then you should have no problem beating on the motor a bit more then average. If you don't do a swap, then yes I do agree with you that civics do get beatin' on and are overrated, but they are reliable as fuck.

Seriously, civics are FWD (already a strike against it), it's not a racing platform.. It's just an economy shitbox.

You can go three ways and be decent in a Honda swap:

B20 bottom end, B16 head, and B18 intake manifold

K20 strait up

or K24 with the K20 head

Honda much like some LSX motors seems to put better heads on lower displacement engines. Like 5.3 heads on 5.7s for some performance.

But a strait B16 is old news and basicly slow by any stanhdards today. Reliable, cheap, good autoxer perhaps, but slow.

I guess you know that now

IMO you need boost, cubes, or preferably both to really play the drag game anymore.
