Why the left supports the legalisation of drugs...
because if theyre not legal, you cant ban them.

consider their attitude towards currently illegal substances in contrast with their attitude to currently legal substances and try to think of a more plausible rationale than the one ive just given.

How else can you explain pushing for legal access to things like heroin whilst simultaneously agitating for ever greater restrictions on tobacco use?

It seems that far from opposing the ban on drugs they would simply prefer to do it in a slow, piecemeal fashion to prolong the enjoyment they derive from pushing people around.

this isn't even a right/left issue, at least not here in the states. conservatives, especially the religious right (almost goes without saying, right?), support keeping drugs illegal at least as much as people on the left.
