Games Thread (Orange)


Install Instructions for HALO 2 XP:

Installation Instructions:
1) Extract the WowLoader-0.2 rar archive.
2) Insert the Halo 2 DVD or mount it.
3) Run Startup.exe on the Halo 2 DVD using the included Loader.exe (located in the rar archive)
Ie.: Loader.exe D:Startup.exe(START-RUN-CMD.....ie.:Loader.exe D:Startup.exe). Or drag the Startup.exe and drop it on Loader.exe
4) Select "Customize game install. Select "Full install only, do not start".
5) When it is done installing, Install XLiveRedist1.0.6027.msi and vcredist.msi from the edists dir on the Halo 2 DVD.
6) Copy the following files into the directory you installed Halo 2 and in C:WINDOWSsystem32:
dwmapi.dll, mf.dll, MFPlat.dll (these are located in the rar archive)
7. On the cd, open the folder called Razor1911 and copy the MF.dll file to your halo 2 install directory.
7) Finished. To play the game, run halo2.exe using the included Loader.exe
(Ie.: Loader.exe "C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesHalo 2halo2.exe"(START-RUN-CMD.....ie.:Loader.exe"C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesHalo 2halo2.exe") or drag the halo2.exe and drop it on the loader.exe

Notes:
You need to be logged in with an administrator account for Loader.exe to work, since it uses privileged API's.
Currently the code for playing the intro and credits movies is unimplemented,
so if you want to see them you'll have to play them yourself (they're located in movie).
I haven't tested the online functionality of the game, it will probably need more attention.
