Kaku is alright, but I've gone off theoreticians in favour of trying to grasp what we already have. I haven't seen his show or lectures, mostly his stuff on BigThink.
Engineering is different because it's the application of the others. But yeah, I felt it was just there for the acronym. I doubt you sucked at it, probably just didn't try hard enough, or made it seem more complicated than it is.
Reason I'm asking is because I was told that science is trending. Not sure what that means.

I read a few theo-physics books and got the "wow, imagine if..." Phase out of the way. Then it was back to actually working through biochem.

Id say it only means something if admissions numbers are going
Up.
The "wow, imagine if.." Inspirational Joe Rogan crowd might be growing but its the physics equivilent of people watching animal planet.

I like science. I don't know much though.
I saw a presentation about space today by someone from NASA.
I'm going back to school for engineering.

As long as interest is going up it should trickle to the kids who'll actually do it instead of just watching through the wormhole. Colorado still wants to teach creationism, and I read about another state that wanted to withhold highschool degrees from atheists. The bill probably won't pass, but it being proposed is awkward.
Degrasse is doing a lot to 'inspire' and generate interest too. I've noticed more people discovering him recently. I want to read his book, but I know it'll be preachy.
Schrodinger's 'What is Life' looks like it'll give a good perspective.
But I was just curious about people's thoughts since it was mentioned. I do realize that I'm posting this among people who believe in telepathy.

Right on. Doing something worthwhile.
I'd also add Art somewhere into STEM. To make STEAM, I guess. Art is important. That includes music, theatre, movie, sculpture, poetry, etc. I find art to be like science at play; in the same sense that engineering is science at work.

i was just thinking today about how i love both art and science and want to have a good balance of both...after the NASA presentation i went to another event - cultural celebration where they had music, performances, history, etc.
i definitely want to experience both a lot more this year and going forward.

Nice, a day like that always puts you in a good mood. Good goal too.
On my way home from class, I try to stop by the free concerts the music students do. Usually a good time.
