if you were high as a kite and had problems id hafta assume the problem would be some sort of mechanical failure on the kite, like a ripped wing or bent frame, so the problem could then be assumed that your high up but prolly are gonna crash cus your kite is malfunctioning. A malfunctioning kite has been the cause for many lost eyeballs and of course "lost kites" as we in the Kiting bidness like to call it when you lose one in a tree.
