nice piece, there's a double meaning here in between the metaphors, it may even be written intentionally, but it's one strong metaphor. nice personification of the panther and I really like your detailed streams of imagery, really adds to the sense that you are stalking, that you are in the hunt. and you evolved the poem towards the end by making it seem like the panther is thinking, even though animals live on instincts. One thing though which may help take your writing to another level is maybe to add in some sensory images. for example when we are hungry, our mind does focus, but our senses heightens. and you can talk about the surrounding smell, the fact that ever crack, whip, and whistling of the wind counts; and the brush of grass and dirt burying your paws. There's so much you can do with sensory images that it just opens up your creative options. hope that helps a bit, thanks for the share! :]
