It's the fact that the word "articulate" is always used to describe an educated black person like it's an anomaly, while white people are automatically assumed to be such. The subtext really is... "he's articulate... for a black guy." There have been numerous articulate white candidates for President over the years, but they never get mentioned as such... why? Because it's taken for granted... while for black people, it's a surprise.

My rebuttle to this, They must think they're still inarticulate if a white man calling them articulate affects them. This isn't the 1800's. Black people have been well educated. You have to figure WHITE POLITICIANS KNOW THIS. So a Historical Race card doesn't work here. Bush's comment showed no signs of racism, being deeming, or condescending. Articulate comments have applied to everyone from George carlin to Dave chappelle, It's a complement. inarticulate is nagative comment. unless I live on bizzaro world. If a articulate black person suprises you in 2007 it's time to get yourself some black friends.
Bush said: He was a very articulate man.
all Races say all the time Bush is inarticulate.
It's a double-standard with double-irony in todays age.
Trust me, I was watching the news and these two black ladies were saying it was racist. I was in raged at how black poeple make the racial rules
up as they go along.
